Members of The Inland Empire Chapter of Romance Writers of America are sad to report the death of our dear friend, member, and mentor, Bonnie Hamre, on April 24, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
We count ourselves lucky to have known Bonnie Hamre. She was a multipublished author for several publishers (Ellora's Cave, ImaJinn, Cerridwen Press, Red Sage, and Whiskey Creek Press), a travel blogger for South America at About.com, and so much more. Bonnie was a widow, a mother, a grandmother and a friend.
As sick as she was, Bonnie was still planning future books-her mind was filled with exciting plots-and she was hard at work on a memoir about life with her four sisters. Bonnie Hamre, writer extraordinaire, and it's our good fortune to be able to know and love her as our friend.
For those who knew Bonnie during her writing years in other cities, you are welcome to contact our chapter. We will be happy to pass on your notes of condolence to Bonnie's family.
For anyone wishing to make a donation in Bonnie's name, the family would appreciate donations going to either Hospice of Spokane or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
