IECRWA Monthly Meetings and Events

Our chapter is very active and meet every month. We also host writing conferences and members only writing retreats.

Unless otherwise noted below, our meetings are the second Saturday of each month from 10:15am - 12:15pm + optional lunch/social hours at the:

All meetings include a brief business meeting and a guest speaker or workshop on some element of the writing craft or business of being a writer. Most members stay for another hour or two to eat lunch, share news, talk about the writing life, and sometimes even do some writing.

We love visitors and you are welcome to join us on two separate occasions without charge. During this time, you may assess our chapter and see how well we fit each other's needs. If you wish to join IECRWA, you are required first to join the national organization. See Join Us! for details.

Goal Setting and Time Management
Join the chapter for an interactive session on how to set goals, manage your writing time, and stay motivated. Stay for the critique session after our regular meeting.

Notes: Bring your lunch if you want to stay for the critique session.

February 11, 2012
Interactive Storyboarding/Plotting
Rebekah Acree aka Griffin Asher shows us how she plots stories and keep all the themes and threads straight while writing.
Location: Post Falls Library
Notes: Bring your own board, post-its, and work in progress. Also bring lunch as this session might go for a while once we're all caught up in the plotting.

Members Only Retreat
Join us for a relaxing weekend of writing, writing, and more writing. Get caught up on your work in progress or start your next novel.

Members who have previously attended Romance Writers of America's national conference shares tips and insights on how to make the best of your time at the conferece.

Notes: Stay for extended session to practise your conference pitch.

Mini Retreat
We'll spend the day at Tina Jacobson's house to take stock of where we are in our writing goals and to critique each others works in progress. Members who attended the national conference share what they learned.
