One of my favorite childhood memories is of reading stories with my parents before bedtime. That love of story time grew into a love of books, and I became an avid reader. The Little House on the Prairie series, The Black Stallion books, Gone With the Wind….I devoured them all. At about age 13, I discovered my mother's copy of "Shanna," by Kathleen Woodiwiss, and I was hooked on romance.
I still read historical romance, as well as romantic suspense and a variety of contemporary fiction. Somewhere amongst all this reading, I decided to try my hand at writing. I have completed a contemporary romantic suspense novel and my current work in progress is a historical romance set in post-Civil War Texas.
A Montana native, I recently moved back to the northwest after eight fun-filled years in Texas. While living in Fort Worth I wrote non-fiction articles for publications as varied as the Mesquite Rodeo Program and a Tarrant County Physician's journal. The interviews for Mesquite Rodeo were a highlight of my writing career…….what better motivation to write a cowboy hero than interviews with the cowboys themselves?
Now I am happily settled in the northwest and working toward being published in romance fiction. I am a PRO member of RWA, and belong to the Inland Empire and North Texas chapters.
